INTEL UNVEILS NEW CONVERTIBLE CLASSMATE PC

Intel officially released its second-generation Classmate PC, which is the first low-cost educational notebook to use a convertibe tablet design with a touchscreen at the CES 2009.It has a wide variety of innovative features.Basically built on the Windows XP it has its own software to utilise maximum of touch screen capabilities.
The new model comes with two USB ports, VGA-Out, and an Ethernet port. The built-in Wi-Fi chip supports 802.11abg and 802.11n wireless. The Classmate's storage has improved since its predecessor, though it will still be offering 2-GB to 16-GB SSD drives, for price-sensitive markets, and rotating drive of 
between 40 GB and 120 GB, for optimal capacity.
the notebook is preloaded with lots of software that takes advantage of the touchscreen including a program called Vision Objects Pen Input, which turns handwriting into editable text and contains a virtual keyboard.
the touchscreen is responsive to both finger and pen input

Speaking of smooth writing, palm rejection technology will prevent mistakenly selecting other parts of the screen.
Turning the netbook vertically adjusts the screen orientation in under 2 seconds.
The Convertible Classmate is meant for children and isn’t a netbook that adults will want to carry
